Dating, hmm...ideas.....
i find dating to be a waste of my time. i usually know if i am going to find someone interesting the first time i interact with them, and the subsequent "sure, we can go out sometime" is more a reluctance than an excitement....
but, i'd say that each date should be viewed as an opportunity to add knowledge of the world to your database. never know, might stumble upon some juicy tidbit of info/experience you hadn't previously encountered.
as a female, though...dating can consist of as much time spent pushing them away as it is gathering info.

Lol. Why would you want to push a date away? Defeats the purpose. I do agree with the gathering information thing though. I feel the same why. I don't really have any prerequisites on a date just for that reason. Might learn something.

`re: pushing them away: it's been my experience on the (relatively few) dates i've gone on since my divorce that the guys are too pushy/eager, or something (like wanting to discuss all kinds of deep s--- on the first date.) and half of the time it's hard to tell whether they are just trying to get in my pants, or not. discerning where they are coming from is a lot of work, usually more work than it turns out to be worth ;)

`I agree that dating is meant to help someone get to know someone else. I enjoy dating even if I know the relationship is not going some where. Some times I will take a girl on a "date" just to brighten her day. A date does not mean relationship, its to get to know someone better.

Well I guess everyone feels the way their going to feel. I like eager girls though(not to have sex). I like someone ready and willing to have fun. Not into those slow starters. Too boring for me.

`yeah i used to be more like that. i think the 'taking it slow' thing has come with age (and bad experiences.) strange to me that the dudes in my age-range, tho, still act like they're 20 about it. the ones i've met so far, anyway.
